Credits:5 LEC hours per week:5 Introduction in weed science to provide an understanding of the principles and methods of controlling weeds, use and development of herbicides, methods of application and rate calculation, sprayer components and calibration, and practical knowledge of plant and seed samples of weeds common to the Pacific Northwest. Formerly: AGPR 105. Course Outcomes:
Identify a variety of plant species.
Evaluate whether a plant in a given context is a weed.
Compare a vairety of weed control options.
Choose the best control option at a given site.
Formulate a weed abatement strategy for that site.
