Survey of selected women writers across time and cultures. Time period covered ranges from the 18th to the 21st century. Formerly: WST 251.
Course Outcomes:

Interpret literature and evaluate the readings for authorial style, intent, theme, and characterization.
Define and employ appropriate literary terminology.
Evaluate the role of women in literature (both as authors and characters) and compare how those roles have shifted over time and across cultures.
Appraise the ways in which a writer’s insight can be relevant culturally and personally.
Compose unified, coherent responses to the literature which appropriately cite from the text under consideration.
